Backstory:
Scott was born with and has been carrying a clear determination to achieve a personal best his entire life. He felt it the first day his father left him and his mother alone in the West district to find his “dream”, which came in the form of a rich lady in a far wealthier side of town. Scott grew up thinking he always had to test himself an achieve greater goals, surpassing his personal best no matter what anyone else told him. He managed to enroll in college after working several jobs, along with the support of his mother. College life suited him and his determination, ceasing every opportunity he could find and talking very little to anyone else around him unless necessary. Scott thought his life going swimmingly until he found himself bored by everything around him. Desperate to rid himself of the thought he dedicated himself to sciences, making his first friends along the way. A self proclaimed magician and a man in a wheelchair, both of which he grew attached to. He allowed himself to relax and enjoy their company, which was quickly replacing his need to fill his schedule.
As they were studying a compound in a high-tier science class as an extra credit project, his two friends made a slight mistake that resulted in an explosion, causing Scott to black out. He awoke a bed, white sheets stained red from blood. Surrounding him were doctors, who quickly injected him with a sleeping drug. The few words he heard were along the lines of “Lucky to be alive” and “Commence the tests tomorrow”. The next time he awoke, he found himself in his dorm. He remembered nightmares of possessing claws and tentacles instead of legs, and a man dressed in a suit. He quickly found out this was more than a nightmare, and he was able to transform himself at will into an abomination. An abomination…or a hero? Scott re-united with his friends to discover they had also received some sort of powers, but no memory of a man in suit. They all agreed that when they finished college, they would join forces to fight crime, which they knew all to well was plagued the west district where little help was to be found. That is when Scott took up the name of Side Effect.
